DY Patil Sports Cricket Stadium Batting Or Bowling Pitch?
To provide a springy and realistic surface, the entire outfield has been meticulously tilled with 200 tonnes of dirt imported from South Africa. The outfield of the main pitch is covered with sand-based grass, which not only minimises player injuries but also facilitates simpler drainage. A drainage system will be installed beneath the main surface to help with water dispersion. The four lighting towers are higher than typical to shield batters from glare during nighttime games. It is therefore categorised as a hitting pitch.History
Mumbai City FC’s Indian Super League home ground was designated as the DY Patil Stadium in 2014. Mumbai City FC played all of their home matches at DY Patil Stadium. The stadium defeated Cooperage Ground to host the Hero ISL 2014 Final between Atlético de Kolkata and Kerala Blasters FC. The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Finals will take place there once more in 2020. It is the ninth-largest cricket venue in India, with a capacity of 55,000 spectators. The stadium is less costly than other stadiums since it contains bucket seats and cantilever roofing rather than pillars. An annual inter-school cricket game is held here. The stadium features a pool, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, nine hard courts for tennis, four courts for indoor badminton, and other facilities. The cantilever roof of the stadium eliminates the need for any supports and enables spectators to watch the game from any location inside the stand.
