Virat Kohli, a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) mainstay, recently said that he dislikes being referred to as ‘King’ and prefers to be addressed simply by his name.
It happened during the RCB Unbox event on Tuesday (March 19) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The franchise’s men’s and women’s cricket teams attended the occasion, which drew thousands of spectators to the stands.
The aforementioned incident occurred when the emcee called Virat Kohli as ‘King’ while calling him onto the platform.
Kohli had to pause for a few seconds before speaking due to the strong welcome from the supporters.
The renowned cricketer confessed that he feels humiliated when referred to as ‘King’ and asked that everyone address him simply as Virat.

Virat Kohli has been away from the pitch for the past several months owing to personal concerns. During this time, he did not play in the five-match Test series against England.
Kohli will finally make his long-awaited return to the pitch in the next IPL 2024, representing the RCB team.
Virat Kohli expressed his delight at returning to action during a recent discussion on RCB.tv, saying.
RCB players arrived in Chennai on March 20 to begin preparations for IPL 2024’s inaugural match.
They will meet the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the season opener on Friday (March 22) at Chepauk Stadium.
