Dolphins star cornerback Jalen Ramsey will have meniscus surgery on his left knee and is expected to miss the start of the regular season, league sources revealed.
It was not immediately known how long Ramsey would be out, but sources revealed that he could miss “a few months” depending on how the surgery goes.
However, Ramsey posted on social media that he would be “back in that field stronger than ever.” Ramsey left practice early Thursday after colliding with wide receiver Tyreek Hill and after that, to the locker room, he was taken back.

Therefore, the three-time All-Pro himself participated in 11-on-11 drills on the third day of the team’s training camp but was seen interacting with Hill during coverage. Both players fell to the ground and Ramsey sat up straight before getting to his feet for a few seconds. Before leaving the field, under his power, he tried to recover from the injury.
The team’s athletic trainers cared for his left knee for the remainder of practice, and after practice, Ramsey was escorted back to the locker room.
The Dolphins traded a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long for Ramsey this offseason, pairing them with another All-Pro in cornerback Xavien Howard. Trainer Mike McDaniel is expected to comment on Ramsey’s condition when he speaks to the media on Friday morning.
