Djokovic’s 2022 Season Offers Hope For Future Success
Djokovic’s 2022 Season Offers Hope For Future Success: 2022 did not have a particularly easy year for Novak Djokovic. Djokovic chose not to vaccinate against the Coronavirus, and had to give up several tournaments because of it. The former world number one was unable to play at the Australian Open and the US Open – events in which he would have been able to hoped for success.
Zimonjic has missed all four American Masters 1000 tournaments because of the lack of prize money. Despite the disappointment, he still holds a respectable 17th position. At Wimbledon, he failed to score points even though he was seeded #12.
On Monday, Novak put on one of his best performances ever in London, winning his seventh title at the tournament and making it tight who is actually the best player in the game right now. Similarly to Nadal, Djokovic owns the Australian Open title in 2023 but needs a Masters-level performance to get there.
“No problem” entering Australia next year is what a recent interview with “The Pavlovic Today” showed. During the interview, Goran Djokovic, Nole’s uncle had some interesting thoughts about his nephew’s future.
Goran Djokovic, Novak Djokovic’s uncle, surprisingly took center stage to say his nephew will not retire before his 40th birthday.
“Despite many challenges this year, Novak is determined to push forward. Now that he’s been through these events, he’ll finally step up his game and be able to fight for a big title. After being put through all the hardships, Novak will turn it around and take on the best in the world.”
Although Goran Djokovic believes he can retire in three or four years, he intends to retire in five or six years. Facing a knee injury, Carlos Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open.
Alcaraz delighted audiences in his comeback by putting on a show in the US Open. Alcaraz received praise from Novak Djokovic, the former World Number 1 who also threw out a tweet to support his performance. The 21-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to praise Alcaraz for putting on a brilliant performance and win the US Open title.
Serb Djokovic congratulated Alcaraz with a US Open trophy image on Instagram, after the Spaniard won his first slam. Meanwhile, Djokovic had to skip the US Open when he was denied entry into the United States in September due to his vaccination status.
