Dinesh Karthik, the Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batter, has been penalized for violating the IPL code of conduct during their Eliminator match against the Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Check out complete details about it below. Also, find out the reason behind it.
Dinesh Karthik was chastised for violating the code of conduct
The IPL said in a statement, “Mr Karthik acknowledged to the Level 1 infraction under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sentence.”
“For Level 1 Code of Conduct violations, the match referee’s judgment is decisive and binding,” it said.
The explanation for the violation was not given in the release, but Karthik produced a vital 23-ball 37 and put on an unbroken 92-run fifth wicket partnership in 41 balls with Rajat Patidar, who made 112 not out off 54 balls, including 12 fours and seven sixes.
Dinesh Karthik has been named to India’s T20I squad for the forthcoming home series against South Africa. Karthik, who had been on the sidelines since India’s semi-final elimination in the 2019 ODI World Cup, was selected after an outstanding IPL season in which he completed multiple games successfully for Royal Challengers Bangalore with a remarkable strike rate.
“Very happy, very satisfied… “I have to admit that this has been perhaps my most special comeback, because a lot of people had given up on me,” Karthik stated in a video uploaded by RCB on their Twitter account.
Karthik further complimented the national authorities and Indian club management for choosing his abilities despite his advanced age – he’ll become 37 coming weeks – above all the fresh talent present.
