Dinesh Karthik decodes Dean Elgar’s technique
Dinesh Karthik stated during a conversation on Cricbuzz regarding the southpaw’s excellent knock that Elgaris a very old-school batter in a modern game today if you had to analyze his batting style.
He does, however, possess a very basic technique and few motions. He just needs to lower his already upright backlift, which is the result of his extremely hunched posture.
Elgar’s final Test match has got off to a wonderful start. After playing two matches in the home Test series against India, he declared his retirement.
Karthik said Elgar deserves recognition. He played a tremendous knock, in my opinion. It was one of those knocks that had a lot of Dean Elgar-esque shots, where he would leave the ball, play hard cricket, and simply put away the balls that were near to him or really short.
Karthik praised him and said being able to achieve what Dean Elgar does requires a great deal of bravery and talent.
