When asked about MS Dhoni’s possible future with Chennai Super Rulers after the 2023 season, former India opener Virender Sehwag spoke candidly.
In the 2023 Indian Premier League final, Gujarat Titans will play Chennai Super Kings; After the match was forced into reserve day due to persistent rain.
The title battle, which was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday night, was moved to Monday. CSK were the primary group to arrive at the last after they had crushed GT in the principal qualifier.
On Monday night, the team will be aiming for a record-breaking fifth IPL title.
MS Dhoni’s future in the IPL after the 2023 season has been the subject of much speculation throughout the season.
Although Dhoni has not revealed whether or not he will participate in the tournament the following year, the captain of CSK has stated that he will take some time to consider his options.
Previous India opener Virender Sehwag – who has played under MS Dhoni’s captaincy for Group India.
Has now spoken on the CSK captain’s possible future, demanding that Dhoni will either keep on playing as a first-cooperative person or will resign.
Sehwag made a comment about the Impact Player rule because the former opener said that Dhoni won’t meet the requirements.
If you’re fit, playing cricket in your 40s is rather simple. MS Dhoni hasn’t played much baseball this year. His knee injury is not getting worse. He would frequently bat in the final two overs.
If I count all the balls he faced this season, he would have faced between 40 and 50 deliveries. The Influence Player rule does not apply to MS Dhoni because he only wants to be captain.
In order to be captain, he must remain on the ground. Influence Player rule is for somebody who doesn’t field yet bats, or a bowler who doesn’t have to bat. Dhoni needs to handle 20 overs.
He won’t even play as an Impact Player if he isn’t captain.
It’s noteworthy that CSK bowling coach Dwayne Bravo had earlier claimed that the Impact Player rule would make it easier for Dhoni to play for the side in the future.
100%. especially given the Impact Player rule. Bravo said to Star Sports when CSK reached the final last week, “It will keep extending his career.”
