Details about Roelof van der Merwe: Roelof Erasmus van der Merwe was born on the 31st of December in the year 1984. He is a Dutch-South African professional cricket player.
He has played internationally for both South Africa and the Netherlands. He belongs to a group of players who have represented more than one international team.
Merwe was born in Johannesburg. He made his first-class and List A debuts playing for Northerns during the 2006–07 season. He then moved into franchise cricket with Titans the following season. Merwe is an all-rounder. He is a left-arm orthodox spinner. Roelof van der Merwe is a right-handed middle-order batter. He played One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket for South Africa. He played these two formats for the country between 2009 and 2011. van der Merwe obtained a Dutch passport in June 2015. He went on to be selected in the Netherlands squad for the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier.

Career Information
Roelof Erasmus van der Merwe played for South Africa in 2004 Under 19 World Cup. He went on to make his first-class debut in 2006 for Northerns. His duck on debut was unfortunate and for the rest of the season, he turned out to be a failure. But fortune smiled in 2007.
He then moved to franchise cricket with the Titans. He gained tremendous success in the short formats with the Titans. He became Titans’ leading wicket-taker in the MTN Domestic Championship. He bagged 27 wickets. Merwe scored 269 runs by batting in the middle order.
In the Standard Bank Pro20 series, he became the third highest wicket-taker taking13 wickets. He offered his contribution of 192 runs. Titans emerged winners in both tournaments. van der Merwe bagged all the awards, winning the MTN Domestic Championship Player of the Year, Player of the Year, Standard Bank Pro20 Series Player of the Year, and the Newcomer of the Year awards. At the South African annual cricket function, Merwe won the Domestic Newcomer of the Year award.
Merwe won the Man of the Match award on his T20 debut with 48 runs. He was selected for the ODI series soon. He came forward with a 3-wicket haul in the 2nd match. However, to make a spot in the star-studded South African lineup was hard. He missed out on a place in the team in the World Cup of 2011.
Merwe was a member of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2nd and 3rd seasons. He was then picked up by Delhi Daredevils in the auctions for IPL 4.
