Deandre Dottin’s retirement announcement comes as a shock: The talented and well-known All rounder who scored the fastest 50 in Women’s T20 Cricket announced her retirement from the West Indies team. She took to official Twitter handle to make the retirement announcement. Currently, she is playing in the Commonwealth games 2022 representing Barbados. She announced her retirement from West Indies international Cricket, but she will play domestic Cricket around the world.

On Monday, 2nd August while aging in Commonwealth games Deandre took her Twitter to officially announce her retirement. She posted a statement stating she is officially retiring from playing international Cricket for West Indies. However, she will be playing domestic Cricket across the globe. With Women’s CPL being held in August, she is going to captain Trinbago Knight Riders, the 3-team tournament.
The retirement news came as a shock to the International Cricket fraternity as she is one of the talented all-rounders in women’s Cricket. She will also be playing for Manchester Original in the second season of The Hundred. Earlier it was reported that She has issues with her Cricket board, now retirement announcement might confirm the reports.
In her statement on Twitter, she stated ” I have faced many obstacles in my Cricket career and that I had to overcome. However, the current environment of the team has been non-conducive to my cricketing abilities to reignite my passion and thrive. I appreciate all the opportunities given to me, I have thought about my decision over time.”
She thanked her fans and everyone for all the support and love throughout her Cricket career with West indies. West Indies Cricket Board and issues with players are not surprising. Even with the Men’s West Indies Cricket team, many legendary players took retirement and are playing private leagues like IPL.
