The CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati of the Prasar Bharati makes an announcement this Thursday that DD Sports will not be telecasting the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics live on the channel. Check DD Sports Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The announcement comes right a few minutes after China chooses a military commander Galwan Valley as its torchbearer for the sporting event. Indian government decides that their envoy won’t be attending the opening or the closing ceremonies for the Winter Olympics 2022.
Vempati also tweets about the event stating, “Consequent to the announcement by @meaindia, @ddsportschannel will not telecast live the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics being held in Beijing.”
