Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 7th game of the IPL 2023 on Tuesday (April 4) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The Capitals lost their opening encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants after failing to chase down the target of 194 runs. The target could have been much smaller if the Capitals had been more attentive in the field.
The bowlers also had an off day as each of them conceded runs at an economy of more than 7.5. They conceded just 30 runs in the powerplay but couldn’t manage to maintain the pressure afterwards. Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will be available for selection for this game, and it will be interesting to see how the playing 11 will shape up.
The Titans won their opening game against the Chennai Super Kings by five wickets after chasing down the target of 179 runs in the last over of the match. Shubman Gill had a great outing with the bat as he scored 63 runs off just 36 deliveries.
With the ball, Rashid Khan starred for the Titans as he picked two wickets for 26 runs in four overs and was adjudged the Player of the Match. Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury in the first game and has been ruled out of the tournament. David Miller will be available for selection for this game and might replace Williamson in the playing 11. Apart from this, the Titans will hardly make any changes to the team.

PITCH REPORT
The Arun Jaitley Stadium hosted a total of four IPL games in 2021, and the team chasing the total won three of these matches. The pitch here will likely remain balanced throughout the game, which means this might be an equally-contested game. The pacers will likely be more dominant than the spinners on Tuesday.
PLAYER PICKS
Captains
Shubman Gill GT | BAT
The Indian opener has been in the best form of his life currently. Since 2022, Gill has scored 1008 runs in 29 T20 games at an average of 40.32 and a strike rate of 146.29. In the opening game against CSK, he scored 63 runs off just 36 deliveries.
Hardik Pandya GT | BAT
The skipper of the Giants didn’t do much with either bat or ball for the team in the first game. In the absence of Williamson, Pandya might bat in number three place and make a significant contribution going forward
David Warner DC | BAT
He was the pick of the batters in the first game, as he scored 56 runs off 48 deliveries and gave a decent start to the team. The Capitals will have a huge advantage if Warner can perform similarly in this game
Top Chosen player
David Miller GT | BAT
The last season was David Miller’s best in IPL so far. He scored over 450 runs for the first time despite playing in the league since 2012. Miller had the highest average with the bat and remained not out in nine out of his 16 outings. He missed the season opener but will be available for this game.
Mitchell Marsh DC | ALL
He was dismissed on a golden duck in the first game but has been in great form recently. He scored two half-centuries in the three-match ODI series against India last month and also won the Player of the Series award
Rashid Khan GT | BOWL
He was the most economical bowler for the Titans in the first game and picked two wickets for 26 runs in four overs. In the last game, he won his 10th Player of the Match award in IPL.
