David Warner is all set to sign a deal with Sydney Thunders in BBL: Over the last few weeks, David Warner has been in news for UAE and BBL leagues. Both the league franchises were battling to get David Warner on board. Earlier UAE board offered a whopping amount to get the Former Australian vice-captain on board. In order to get David in the BBL, Sydney Thunder offered him more than UAE.
Now there are reports that Star Australian Batsman David Warner is set to sign a deal in BBL. The Sydney Thunders franchise in BBL has managed to convince the batter to get on board.
Sydney Thunders will sign Warner at a whopping price.
As per the reports, David Warner is set to sign with Sydney Thunders at $340,000 for 5 games. Later he has to leave for his international matches. There was huge pressure on cricket in Australia, especially after the development of two new T20 leagues UAE and CSA T20.
Both leagues were working to get big players on board, these leagues have recently been acquired by IPL franchises. This has made it difficult for Cricket Australia to hold its marquee players.
David Warner was speculated to join the UAE T20 league. Cricket Australia has recently announced the Big Bash League schedule for 2022-23.
The Big Bash League has a total of 56 games on the League stage played at 17 venues.
While UAE International leads T20 as a 6 tournament. The tournament might have fewer matches compared to BBL but they are going to be played at the same time. The inaugural edition of CSA T20, BBL, and BPL will clash with UAE T20.
At the moment cricket Australia is trying hard to retain its Big guns. Many players such as Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, Steve Smith, and Mitchell Starc have already backed out.
