David Seaman claims that Arsenal cannot afford to sign Liverpool and Manchester City target Jude Bellingham, a Borussia Dortmund star who has been heavily linked to both Liverpool and Manchester City. “I’m not so sure,” Seaman said. Since signing with BVB in the summer of 2020 for a one-time fee of £25 million from Birmingham City, Bellingham, who is 19 years old, has established himself as an essential member of the team.
In 112 games across all competitions, he has scored 19 goals and provided 21 assists for the Bundesliga club. Bellingham, a box-to-box passer with excellent passing and dribbling skills, has been rumored to leave Edin Terzic’s team next summer for some time. The likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United have recently begun to pay attention to him.
On the podcast Seaman Says, Seaman insisted that Arsenal would not pay Bellingham more than £100 million. He stated, “Bellingham playing in the Premier League would be fantastic for me. There’s no denying it. Could Arsenal afford to sign him? With these World Cup performances, I’m not so sure.”
Bellingham, whose contract at Signal Iduna Park runs through June 2025, has performed admirably at the club level during the 2022-23 season. In his 22 games for BVB thus far, he has scored nine goals and provided two assists. Christian Falk, a journalist for BILD, claims that in their pursuit of the 20-cap England international, Liverpool has edged out Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
A permanent move to Anfield is also attractive to Bellingham’s family. England’s Bellingham is currently participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Over the course of the quadrennial tournament, he has become a crucial part of Gareth Southgate’s setup, scoring one goal and providing one assist in four games.
In his column for Caught Offside, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2023.
This makes him a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool.
He penned: “Marcus Thuram is a good player who is available as a potential free agent in the summer of next year, so I expect there to be a lot of rumors about him. He’ll consider all options over the next few months, according to what I’ve heard, as he could really leave on a free transfer.
This season, Thuram, 25, has been dominant for his team, scoring 13 goals and assisting on four others in 17 games.
