David Noble- Left North Melbourne after a consecutive 14th Loss
David Noble- Left North Melbourne after a consecutive 14th Loss. North Melbourne made an official declaration about separation with head coach David Noble.
The decision was taken after the 14th-straight loss of the team last weekend.
David Noble, aged 55-year, managed to deliver one win. This year Kangaroos played 16 games and won just 1. The decision of the club to separate is not unexpected.
Tuesday morning, Noble spoke with the press conference. He said that he remained content with his contribution to North Melbourne, despite this departure.
Noble said, “Gave my absolute heart and soul .. comfortable I gave my all to this place.”
“We both walked away comfortable that this was the right call for me, my family, and the club going forward.
“I always worked in the best interests of the players, the staff, and the football club… but ultimately, the scoreboard doesn’t make for great reading.
“Aside from my family, football is my life. I am so fortunate to be involved in this game for 30 years.
“I feel I have unfinished business in this industry.”
Dr. Sonja Hood, the President said Tuesday morning that for the performance-based sector, losses would not cut it.
“While we appreciate that we are at the beginning of a rebuild, it doesn’t give us a free pass in terms of expecting competitive performances. We entered this season optimistic about 2022 because of our record in the second half of 2021 and solid off-season recruiting,” Hood said.
Hood said “Resisting the urge to dream big, we set a simple benchmark – improve on last year, compete consistently against the teams around us on the ladder and play a brand of football that challenged the competition’s best teams.
“Put simply, we have failed to live up to those expectations, and that is why we have agreed to end David’s tenure as coach.”
CEO Ben Amarfio gave a brief on how the team will improve its performance. All options are taken into consideration to help in club development.
Noble remained the coach of North for 38 games. He took charge as coach in 2020 and won just five matches.
The current loss arrived at the hands of Collingwood. The match was on last Saturday. It was with the Magpies.
Leigh Adams will act as the interim coach for the remaining period of the year. The Kangaroos will now be looking for a fourth full-time coach. In the last five years, this is the 4th Coach hunt.
