The Russian repeated his victory over Jannik Sinner to win the Miami Open. Next, he overcame Holger Rune to win his second Masters 1000 of the season in the Italian Open.
The Russian lost early in the Australian and French Opens, but rebounded in the remaining Grand Slams.
He had a successful run at Wimbledon and the US Open, reaching the SW19 semifinals and the championships at Flushing Meadows.
