In order to raise public awareness and provide a social message about road safety and measures, the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, New Delhi) recently hosted the “Road Safety Cricket Cup,” a one-day event. Check out complete details about it below.
Cricket’s Road Safety Cup is won by the Raging Lions
According to a press release, this effort, which was conceived by Meehir Kulkarni, received the enthusiastic support of Amitabh Gupta, the then-police commissioner of Pune, Vikram Kumar, the municipal commissioner of Pune, Rahul Chavan, the assistant charity commissioner, and their coworkers.
Under Gupta’s leadership, the Raging Lions (Pune Police) and SkyHawks (Pune Municipal Corporation), both coached by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, put on a strong performance.
The match’s toss was won by the Raging Lions, who decided to start the batting order. Seven and four overs were available for each team to bat in. In seven innings of the first game, the Raging Lions scored 95 runs. The SkyHawks responded with 46 runs, ending their inning. The Raging Lions scored 39 runs in the second inning’s four overs, while the SkyHawks could only muster 49 runs. SkyHawks came in second, and Raging Lions defeated them by a score of 39 runs. Vishal More of the Raging Lions won the award for best batting and player of the match, while SkyHawks’ Sandeep Patole was recognised as the game’s top bowler.
A Road Safety Trophy was presented by the dignitaries to the winning and runner-up teams.
