Commonwealth Games 2022: Indian Women’s cricket team selection: The Indian players will look to improve India’s tally in the multiparty event in 2022. For the first time, Women t20 international is placed in CWG. The BCCI announced on the 2nd week of July that the Indian Women’s cricket team will participate in the CWG. Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the squad.
India is named in Group A with Australia, Pakistan, and Barbados. While Group B includes New Zealand, host England, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. The 2 top teams from both groups will reach the semi-finals and the top teams will compete in the finals.

The Women’s T20 Cricket competition will be held in Edgbaston Stadium starting from July 29. The bronze medal and gold medalist matches will take place on the 7th of August.

A member of the Indian team tested Covid Positive
On July 21, 2022, there were reports that an Indian Women’s cricket team member has been tested for covid positive. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news after the Board’s Apex council meeting.
Though the name of the player has been mentioned. On the other hand, the BCCI president also informed about KL Rahul being positive for the virus.
The Indian men’s team is currently touring the West Indies, and the Women’s team is going to begin their first CWG game on July 29.
