Christian Eriksen of Denmark has decided to join Manchester United on a free transfer, according to sources.
Christian Eriksen to join Manchester United
Christian Eriksen has informed Manchester United that he wishes to join the club on a three-year contract. Eriksen formerly played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2013 and 2020. Brentford terminated the 30-year-short-term old’s contract last month.
The Danish midfielder has a verbal contract with United and therefore will finalise his transfer to Old Trafford following a physical.
Eriksen has had a busy year. Last June, the 30-year-old fell during Denmark’s opening game of the European Championships versus Finland in Copenhagen.
He had to be revived on the field, where he lay unconscious for many minutes while the startled audience and millions of television spectators across the world looked on in horror.
Eriksen was hospitalised for many days and had a pacemaker put to control his pulse.
He left Inter Milan by mutual consent in December because the Italian league prohibits players with pacemakers from playing.
Brentford signed him in January of this year. He appeared in 11 matches for Brentford. And scoring once and assisting four times.
Christian Eriksen is a Danish professional footballer who plays for the Denmark national team as an attacking midfielder. He can also handle centre midfield or as a mezzala.
Eriksen made official international appearance for Denmark at the age of 18 in 2010, but has now amassed over 110 caps, featuring appearances in four big tournaments; he was also the youngest player in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Eriksen is the joint-fifth best all-time scorer in Danish history, and he has been awarded Danish Football Player of the Year a record multiple times. Eriksen fainted on the field during a UEFA Euro 2020 match on 12 June 2021 after having a heart attack; he is administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and was subsequently equipped with a cardioverter.
