Chelsea Strikes Back: Fofana’s Late Goal Scares Milan
Chelsea Strikes Back: Fofana’s Late Goal Scares Milan: After AC Milan’s goalkeeper failed to catch a corner, Chelsea took the lead. Late in the first half, Fofana scored another goal after a scramble between Chelsea and Milan players, who were trying to fight for possession of the ball.
Chelsea had a dominant win with 3 goals in a game against AC Milan. Chelsea’s star player is Wesley Fofana and Chelsea’s coach is Antonio Conte.
Chelsea lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb, but they also drew 1-1 at home with Salzburg. In its opening two Group E games, our team only has four points and is tied in points with Milan – who beat both teams in the group so far by a combined score of 4-0.
The Italian team will have to find more than what they showed in London if they plan on advancing out of the group stages for the first time since 2014.
Chelsea played solid throughout, and finished clinically. The team has regained its confidence following a slow start. They’re still far from the side that won the Cup in 2021, but they’re closer now than after their first few games.
The Blues had to figure out a way to win Wednesday’s game, but gradually began to exert control. Mason Mount had an effort that went just wide and Thiago Silva went close with two headers from corners.
Ghana couldn’t seem to find a way past the Romanian keeper until Fofana calmly put the ball into the net after an ensuing scramble in the 24th minute.
Milan had many long runs in the first half of the game, but they weren’t very methodical and didn’t create any significant opportunities for themselves. There was a significant shooting opportunity for Milan only at the 45th minute, where Rade Krunic shot from 30 yards but Ben Chilwell dove to block it.
In 56th minute of the game, former Chelsea centre back Fikayo Tomori failed to cut out a near-post James cross and Aubameyang had a simple task to guide it home.
Five minutes after the previous action, James ran on to a pass from Raheem Sterling and scored an unstoppable shot. Milan had poor response to Chelsea throughout the second half, barely putting the home defense under pressure or threatening a goal.
The only downside for Chelsea was injury to Wesley Fofana, who left the stadium on crutches and a knee brace. The manager said that they would have to scan it tomorrow, but there was nothing to report at the moment.
