Chelsea is reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos, who has also been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona. This comes ahead of PSG’s January transfer window.
Santos, 18, has scored eight goals in 36 games across all competitions this season, making him a key member of Vasco da Gama’s team’s effort to return to the Brasileiro Serie A.
Since making his Vasco debut in November of last year, the Brazilian prodigy has developed into a dynamic presence in the center of the park. Additionally, he has played five games for the Brazil U16 team.
Le10 Sport claims that Chelsea is the front-runner to sign Santos, despite interest from PSG, Barcelona, and Newcastle United. In the upcoming winter transfer window, the Blues are expected to complete the switch for a fee of £13 million.
According to reports, Santos has chosen the Blues as his preferred destination due to their favorable project under manager Graham Potter, and his contract at the Sao Januario Stadium runs through September 2027.
There are rumors that Chelsea would be interested in paying a lot of money for several midfielders in the future. Mason Mount and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were recently linked with departures, in addition to Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, who are both set to end their contracts this summer.
According to GOAL, the Blues have also been rumored to be interested in players such as Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Frenkie de Jong, Moises Caicedo, Edson Alvarez, Adrien Rabiot, and Bruno Guimaraes.
With a game in hand, Chelsea (21) is eighth in the Premier League standings, eight points behind fourth-place Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea target tipped to join PSG on loan
Famous pundit Didier Roustan said on L’Equipe du Soir (via Canal Supporters) that he would bring Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix to PSG despite interest from multiple clubs. He said more:
“He is a good player, but he is restricted at Atletico, so I will take him. He has attributes. He might even be able to fix Kylian Mbappe, and I think he can play a little lower or even upfront. In any case, you are uncertain about Neymar and Lionel Messi.”
PSG would benefit greatly from a short-term loan agreement with Felix during the winter, according to Roustan. He concluded:
“He is a phenomenal player who can add something new to the team. So, if it’s a loan, I’m okay with it. After that, I believe you could choose to allocate them elsewhere if you are required to pay £100 million. However, in the form of a loan, I affirmatively consent.”
Marca says Felix has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new club because his relationship with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is getting worse. In January, PSG, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are eager to acquire him.
In 129 games across all competitions, Felix, 23, has scored 33 goals and provided 18 assists for Los Rojiblancos. He is currently representing Portugal at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
