Charles Barkley is beginning to change his mind about the LA Clippers being the favorite to win the championship this season.
Barkley thinks that the Clippers’ role players are being hurt by lineup changes because Kawhi Leonard and Paul George aren’t there.
The TNT crew discussed the Clippers’ 122-91 blowout loss to the Denver Nuggets on the most recent episode of Inside the NBA.
Barkley noted Norman Powell’s difficulties playing with George and Leonard
Barkley remarked, “Three weeks ago, Norman Powell was the best player on the court that night.”
He was extraordinary, scoring 36 points. He receives three shots after Paul and Kawhi return. He won’t enjoy that at all.
I know that he wants them so that their team can succeed. “On the other hand, if you go to the gym and think, “Man, I’m going to get five shots.
They just want me to run around and play defense. Going to work is not fun.”
Los Angeles Clippers’ performance against a Western Conference rival was completely embarrassing.
Kawhi Leonard scored six points, grabbed three rebounds, and provided two assists in just 18 minutes of action.
Even worse, Paul George only scored three points in 14 minutes.
With a 21-19 record, the Clippers are currently in sixth place in the standings after losing four games in a row.
The Clippers are 9-6 in their 15 encounters with Leonard and George together this season.
Leonard’s right knee surgery has caused him to be limited in his activities.
George, on the other hand, has suffered minor hamstring, knee, and hand injuries.
Los Angeles Clippers in 122-91 blowout loss to Denver Nuggets lethargic The Los Angeles Clippers were lethargic on both ends of the floor.
At the end of the first half, the Clippers were already 34 points behind
The Clippers basically gave up in the second half due to the absence of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
For the game, they shot just 37.4% from the field, including 5-for-37 attempts from beyond the arc.
The Nuggets breezed to victory despite the Clippers’ lack of success in the second half.
After the game, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said, “We didn’t have a defensive mindset to start the game, and it kind of hurt us.”
We must improve our defensive performance. We were aware of that prior to the game, or they will shame you. We had a tough game tonight.”
On Friday, when they play the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Clippers have an opportunity to end their four-game losing streak.
It’s possible that both George and Leonard will be rested because this is the second game in a back-to-back series.
