The well-known Sri Lankan player is a right-handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler. Born in Colombo, Chamika Karunaratne has been playing for Srilanka from a young age. Though he made his international debut in 2019, he has been playing in the U19 and U23 Sri Lanka teams. One of the most talked about Sri Lankan players made his IPL debut in 2022, but could not play due to national test matches. He was acquired by KKR at 50 Lac in Mega auction 2022. Since a young age, he has been playing and showcasing his skills. However, he is yet to get the highest ranks in international cricket.
International Career
Chamika Karunaratne made his international test debut in February 2019 vs Australia and his ODI debut in 2021 vs Bangladesh. He made his T-20 debut against India in 2021. He has a record of 250 runs and 10 wickets in a series. Karunaratne plays with an average of 27.56 in ODI and 46.63 in T20I. He has an economy of 5.51 in ODI and 7.79 in T20. Though he has been playing from a young age, he has yet to complete at least 50 matches for Sri Lanka. He is currently part of many franchises of private cricket leagues across the globe. His teams include Dambulla Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Nondescripts Cricket Club, Royal College, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka A, Sri Lanka Emerging Team, and Sri Lanka Under-19s.

Chamika was born to a cricketer father, he has three brothers. All his brothers namely Niluka Karunaratne, Dinuka Karunaratne, and Diluka Karunaratne play badminton, while he decided to walk in his father’s footsteps. Born in a Christan family Chamika Karunaratne is single and currently focusing on his career.
