Carlos Alcaraz Reveals Next Great Tennis Rivals: Carlos Alcaraz, 19, celebrated his newly-claimed rank in the world by going out with his team to a restaurant to celebrate. As the U.S. Open finalist, Alcaraz defeated Casper Ruud and is now the youngest top-ranked player in tennis history.
It was the night that Alcaraz became the youngest player to ever top the ATP rankings, and his victory only intensified comparisons between him and the Big Three. On that night, Alcaraz said he had his father, his uncle’s, brother and friends present with him during ESPN’s broadcast of his US Open victory.
Tennis provides the same enjoyment and quality results as the big three professional sports, so I enjoy it.
There have been moments in games where I will smile, and playing on the court gives me enjoyment. How much of that is similar to professional athletes, who have been playing for more than two decades and are widely experienced players?
I’m not one to compare with them, but I want to continue along my own path, and want to get better every day. Technology evolves, so Tennis players have to keep up as well.
Alcaraz says that three players he’s in contention with could make the next big rivalries. Alcaraz was asked who are some of the players he’s competing with, and he mentioned some of his own.
Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, Alcaraz said. There will be a great rivalry in the making between Sinner and 21-year-old Sinner. Our matches are worth watching, and we’re friends just like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
Facing off against each other in the Wimbledon Round of 16, Sinner defeated Alcaraz in a great four-set match. Alcaraz defeated Sinner in the US Open final after Alcaraz defeated Sinner in three sets at the Umag finals. Alcaraz won the Umag finals for his revenge.
