Indian captain Rohit Sharma has defended King Kohli. After the India-England third T20I, Sharma has said that one or two bad series do not make Virat a bad player. We cannot ignore Kohli’s past performances. Reacting to former India captain Kapil Dev’s statement, the Indian captain said that he is watching the game from the outside and does not know what is going on inside.
Let us tell you that Virat is going through the worst phase of his career so far. He is struggling to score runs. In the third T20 match on Sunday, Virat Kohli was dismissed for 11 runs in 6 balls. However, in this short innings, Kohli scored a brilliant six and a four.
Rohit Sharma’s statements on Virat Kohli’s recent performance
Rohit said that he is watching the game from the outside and does not know what is happening inside. Team management has its own thought process. We had built our team and there is a lot of thought behind it. We are supporting boys and giving them sufficient opportunities. In such a situation, anyone can’t know these things from the outside. Hence what is happening outside is not important, what is happening inside is more important to us.
Rohit Sharma further said that everyone goes through ups and downs but the quality of the player is not affected. So we should keep these things in our minds. When a player has been doing well for so many years, one or two bad series doesn’t make him bad. We should not ignore his past performances. We as a team know the importance of him. All have every right to talk about it, but it doesn’t mean much to us.
On a TV channel, former Indian captain Kapil Dev said that when Ashwin, who is the number two bowler, can be dropped from the Test team, then why can’t Kohli be dropped from the T20 team.
