Cameron Green keeps space from his teammates during the national anthem
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was seen standing apart from his teammates during the national anthem on the opening day of the second Test against the West Indies in Brisbane.
With the boy testing positive for COVID-19, he had to keep a good distance from his fellow citizens.
Green and coach Andrew McDonald tested positive for COVID-19, just as Travis Head did after scoring a century in Adelaide.
While the seam-bowling all-rounder and McDonald were dropped from the team. Cricket Australia stated that they can still play in the match provided. They do not produce negative results within the next 24 hours.
Australia’s starting XI: Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon.
Cameron Green scores 14 in his debut Test match at No.4
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old batted fourth for the first time in Test cricket against the West Indies in Adelaide.
The right-hander took a patient and confident start before edging one to Joshua Da Silva off Shamar Joseph’s bowling.
Despite rookie Joseph’s fifer, which included putting Steve Smith out on his first delivery, Australia won inside three days.
Head’s century, along with Josh Hazlewood’s nine wickets, proved vital in Australia’s 10-wicket victory.
The Baggy Greens have also strengthened their lead in the current World Test Championship (WTC) points standings.
Furthermore, they are the defending WTC champions, having defeated India in the final at The Oval in June of last year.
