Bayern Munich has removed Mané from the roster for “misconduct” in response to reports in German media that he struck Sané following Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Manchester City.
Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel said on Friday that he still backs the forward, despite Sadio Mané’s apology for his fight with teammate Leroy Sané.
Mané was removed from Bayern’s squad for Saturday’s match against Hoffenheim for “misconduct.” German media reported that he struck Sané in the face while they were in the storage area on Tuesday, following Manchester City’s defeat to the Bosses Association.
Neither the club nor the players have provided an exact explanation for what took place. Although Tuchel stated that he was not present at the time, he spoke with Mané, Sané, and other players and staff members who were present. Mané said, “to every single closely involved individual,” according to Tuchel.
I am his initial representative in court. Because I’ve known him for so long, I know him and his entourage,” Tuchel said of Mané. “He has my complete support. He had that beforehand, and regardless of his blunder, he actually has it. Mistakes are unavoidable for everybody.
Despite the turmoil surrounding Mané and his own unexpected appointment as coach three weeks ago, Tuchel stated that the club’s atmosphere remains “calm.” He went on to say that the occurrence might even have been useful for “cleaning purposes.”
Forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting remains out of the Bayern Munich squad for Hoffenheim after missing the previous two games with a knee injury. Two points separate Bayern and Borussia Dortmund ahead of Saturday’s match against Stuttgart.
