The digital and television media rights to IPL 2023-27 have brought in INR 48,390 crores. As a result of the media rights, 410 matches will be played over the course of five years, and the BCCI will make approximately INR 118 crore per match.
Disney Star paid Rs 23,575 crore (Rs 57.5 crore per game) to keep their TV rights to the Indian subcontinent, while Viacom18 won the digital rights with a bid of Rs 23,578 crore. In the past, Star India Network was awarded the IPL broadcasting rights for the 2017–22 season for INR 16,347.50 crores, which included both digital and television rights.
The BCCI has never before sold the IPL’s television and digital broadcasting rights separately. The IPL is now the second-most expensive sports league in the world thanks to a value per match that increased by more than 100% from the previous value of Rs 54.5 crore to above Rs 118.02 crore.
