Aaronson participated in 41 games for Salzburg in all tournaments last season, providing16 goals as the team won the Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup for the second year in a row.

Leeds attempted to sign the USA international in January. Aaronson is typically an offensive midfielder, but he can also play in a variety of situations, which will thrill head coach Jesse Marsch.
The midfielder joined Red Bull Salzburg for an unknown price in January 2021, joining Marsch, who was in charge of the Austrian club at the moment.
Aaronson not only completed his second Austrian double last season, but he also played 10 times in the Champions League, assisting Salzburg achieve the game’s last-16.
He appeared in all games 24 times, scoring seven goals to assist Marsch and Salzburg win the Austrian league and cup double.
In the upcoming weeks, he will join the United States national squad for games versus Morocco, Uruguay, Grenada, and El Salvador.
The move is contingent on international clearance and a working visa.
‘It’s a real treat to be here,’ Aaronson said to Sky Sports News: “I prefer to think of myself as a football enthusiast who grew up watching Premier League games; it’s a real treat to be in it.”
