In a conversation with Tennis.com, Brandon says” I really have a good chance of winning here, I enjoy the conditions, I am playing at a higher level l, and I am very confident that I can win this tournament.”
But his competitor in the Quarterfinal is good friend Frances Tiafoe. They have hit each other, and sometimes plan hangouts. Frances Tiafoe is leading 3-0 in tour meetings including Miami hard courts wins this season.
Brandon added, ” He has almost always beaten me, it’s always been close matches with him, but in Miami took the lead.”
” We are quite good friends off the court, he is a nice and funny guy. It’s always amazing and fun to compete with fellow Americans in the tournament.”
” It was amazing and great to go against him in the center court in the full crowd. It was a great atmosphere. When I was done with the 4th set and entered 5th, I was pumped up and definitely was thinking that I’m going to win this one. He raised his game in the 5th set and had some big shots.”
It’s obvious I’m disappointed, but I had a great time at Wimbledon and now gained more confidence”
Another inspiring match was playing against grand slam champion Andy Murray. It was a great experience. He is a legend and I admire him for the way he came back from injury and wanted to compete. It was super nice to share a court and see him.
Brandon posted some videos and pictures of the tournament on his Instagram account to share his experience with fans.
