Both Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma continue their ascent in the ICC T20I rankings, with Yadav meeting his personal best. The most recent edition of the ICC men’s T20I Player rankings was released on Wednesday. India batter Suryakumar Yadav moved up one spot in these rankings. As a result, he now meets his career-best performance in the second position again.
Suryakumar now has 801 rating points. This happened after hitting a game-winning 69 off 36 deliveries in the third match against Australia in Hyderabad on Sunday. This helped India win the series 2-1.
As a direct result of his performance against the West Indies, he had moved up to the number two slot in the T20 rankings for the first time in August of this year.
Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, was in 13th place after getting scores of 46 not out and 17 in the second and third T20Is against Australia. KL Rahul fell four places to 22nd, while Virat Kohli moved up one spot to 15th.
Babar’s standing
It is only a matter of a few rating points separating Suryakumar and the captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam, who has also moved up a rank to take the third position.
Before his teammate Mohammad Rizwan passed him earlier this month, Babar was No. 1 for 1,155 days. He was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 110 runs in the second T20I against England.
After that, in the third and fourth matches, which were also played over the course of the preceding week, he finished with scores of 8 and 36, respectively.
Bowlers’ standings
India’s spinners Axar Patel (18th), Yuzvendra Chahal (26th), and pacer Harshal Patel (37th) have moved up the list of bowlers. But it is still led by Josh Hazlewood, an Australian fast bowler.
However, India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was previously ranked ninth, has now fallen to the tenth position in the chart.
