1. Australia 3 Consecutive Titles (1999-2007)
The Australian cricket team is a very dominating team and very serious about their games they have so many talented players who gave them victory in every tournament. Australia has a record of winning 3 consecutive titles in 1999-2007 led by Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist. Australia’s supremacy was at the next level during this time period.
2. Kapil Dev’s 175* against Zimbabwe (1983)
Kapil Dev was born on 6th January 1959. He was a professional Indian cricketer who played for India National Team. Regarded as the greatest all-rounders in history of the cricket. He had a very interesting iconic moment when in the 1983 World Cup India team was at the score of 17/5 and they were struggling too much against Zimbabwe then Kapil Dev came to bat and he scored 175* runs in just 138 balls and set a target of 266/8.
3. Herschelle Gibbs Dropped Catch (1999)
Herschelle Gibbs is known for his best fielding efforts but on 13th June 1999 that was not his day on the field. On this day Gibbs dropped Steve Waugh’s catch in the Super Six clash which was between Australia vs South Africa and this catch cost their team a chance at World Cup victory. In this match, South Africa bat 1st and gave a target of 271/7 and Gibbs scored 101 runs. In the 31st over Klusener delivered a length ball to Waugh’s pad he flicked it towards mid-wicket ball went to Gibbs’s hands he almost caught the ball but unluckily the catch was dropped by Gibbs.
