Although the Cincinnati Bengals running back has reportedly agreed to take a pay cut to stay with the team for the upcoming season.
Mixon’s agent, Peter Schaefer, told sources that the team has agreed to a restructured deal to keep him through the upcoming season. The running back’s non-guaranteed base salary for the upcoming season was $9.4 million with a cap of approximately $12.8 million.
However, it was reported in April that Mixon could be cut from the team if he did not take a pay cut. During his six years in the NFL, Mixon has been in Cincinnati and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021.
Moreover, that season, Mixon rushed for 1,205 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns as Cincinnati won the AFC title and reached Super Bowl LVI. They lost to Los Angeles; Mixon rushed for 72 yards on 15 carries in that game.

According to sources, the charge relates to an incident in January when Mixon allegedly pointed a gun at a victim in the 200 block of Walnut Street, respectively.
