Ben Stokes and Harsha Bhogle got into a heated exchange. Ben Stokes has called out veteran Indian cricketer and commentator Harsha Bhogle. Bhogle had slammed the English media. He did this because they criticized Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma after her controversial run-out.
Deepti’s legal run-out of Dean caused a huge “spirit of the game” debate in cricket. Some big names in cricket talked about the run-out controversy. Further, popular commentator Bhogle wrote a long note in which he rebuked the English media for criticizing Deepti’s brilliant dismissal after India’s massive win over England.
Between Harsha Bhogle and Ben Stokes!
“It is a cultural thing. The English thought it was wrong to do so & because they ruled over a large part of the cricket world, they told everyone it was wrong. The colonial domination was so powerful that few questioned it,” Bhogle said in his thread that went viral on Twitter. After seeing what Bhogle said about the English media, veteran all-rounder Stokes responded. He decided to send a series of tweets at the veteran Indian commentator.
“Harsha .. 2019 WC final was over 2 years ago, I still till this day revive countless messages calling me all sorts from Indian fans, does this disturb you?,” Stokes tweeted.
“Is this a culture thing?? ….absolutely not, I receive messages regarding the overthrows from people all over world, as people all over the world have made comments on the Mankad dismissal, not just people who are English,” the 2019 World Cup winner said in another explosive tweet.Stokes said something interesting on Twitter after the star all-rounder was mentioned in several tweets. For those who don’t know the reference of this account, internet warriors chose to compare Deepti’s run-out to Stokes’ bat-deflection in the 2019 World Cup final against New Zealand. “Why are people comparing a ball deflecting of my bat to a mankad,” tweeted Stokes.
