Steve Harmison, a former pacer for England, has criticized the way his country is getting ready for the tough Test series against India. Hyderabad is set to host the start of the series on January 25. Ben Stokes and colleagues receive an ominous warning from Steve Harmison.
The spin-heavy team for the tour has already been announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), with players like Shoaib Bashir and Tom Hartley receiving their first-ever call-ups.
Steve Harmison, who has played three Tests while touring India in the past, is not happy with England’s strategy for the series and thinks a resounding defeat will be well-earned.

Ben Stokes and colleagues receive an ominous warning from Steve Harmison. He said “If England go in 3 days before, they deserve to get beat 5-0. They do. I’m an old man, that is what they are going to say, the times have changed, and the game has changed, but I tell you, preparation has not changed.
You can’t go into India underprepared. In fact, you cannot go to India overprepared as well, you can be in India for six weeks before and still not be prepared for that first Test.
I would love to know what Pietersen, Strauss, and Cook, in that great side, the only side that won there in 2012, would think when they hear that England will go to India three days before the series. I think they would laugh at you”.
Harmison has played in three of his four Test match appearances toward India in the subcontinent, taking six wickets in those games.
