The MasterCard will be the new title sponsor for team India by replacing Paytm. It will come into the function from the home series against the upcoming T20 world cup host Australia in September. In fact, Paytm itself had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to give these rights to MasterCard. This request of Paytm was accepted by BCCI.
BCCI has taken another decision on July 26, 2022. Yesterday BCCI also announced the addition of Paddy Upton to the team staff, who was also part of the team management during the 2011 world cup. He will be the mental conditioning coach for team India.
Earlier In 2019, BCCI extended Paytm’s title sponsor for four years
In 2019, the Board of Cricket Control India extended Paytm’s title sponsor for international and domestic cricket matches in India for four years. Paytm had to pay Rs 326.80 crore for title sponsorship from 2019 to 2023. Hence the deal was Rs 3.80 crore per match. Previous the amount was Rs 2.4 crore per match.
MasterCard will be the sponsor for Australia and South Africa series
MasterCard will be the title sponsor for the home series against Kangaroos and then South Africa in September this year. The Kangaroo team will tour India in September before the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October. The team Australia will play a three-match T20 series in India. The first match of the T20 series will be played on 20 September in Mohali. The next 2nd will be played in Nagpur on 23 September and the last match will be played on 25 September in Hyderabad.
The member of the 2011 world cup winning team management Paddy Upton has once again been appointed as the mental conditioning coach of the Indian cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced this on July 26, 2022. Paddy was also present with Team India from 2008 to 2011. Under his supervision, India got succeeded to win their 2nd 50 Over cricket world cup.
In making a step forward towards the preparation for T20 World Cup 2022 BCCI has appointed him. The T20 World Cup 2022 has to play in Australia in the month of October-November this year. After this, the ICC ODI World Cup will take place in India in 2023.
