BCCI postpones U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy due to rise in Covid 19 cases
On Monday, an official announcement was made by the BCCI, in which the decision has been taken to postpone the matches of the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy.
93 matches were played at 20 venues in this league.
This information has been given by the BCCI while issuing a press release.
In this press release, the board has told that this decision has been taken after some Covid19 cases came to the fore inside the team.
The BCCI has taken this decision when 56 players out of the eight remaining teams in the tournament turned out to be Corona positive.

On Monday, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah sent an email to all the associations of the state in which he wrote,
“Dear Colleagues, I hope you and your family members are healthy and safe. In view of the rising Corona (Covid19) cases across India, we have decided to postpone the domestic tournament. I thank you all for supporting our decision. It is being speculated that the cases may increase further. I believe we have taken the decision at the right time. This will help prevent the spread of new variants as the virus is far more contagious.”
