India team lose its test series against SA and after playing the last match Virat Kohli submits their resignation letter to BCCI officers.
Now there are reports that he was offered a farewell match by the BCCI with a ceremony in Bangalore. But Kohli turned down this offer of the board.
Actually, India has to play the first match of the 2-Test series in Bengaluru against Sri Lanka on February 25 and this will be Kohli’s 100th Test.
BCCI officers give an offer to Virat Kohli which he refuses
According to Hindustan Times an English newspaper
“When Virat Kohli informed the BCCI about the decision to leave the Test captaincy over the phone. Then he get an offer regarding a farewell match with a ceremony in Bengaluru from a top BCCI official.
In response, Kohli said, “One match does not matter. I’m not like that.”
BCCI wants Virat Kohli to playtest a match against Sri Lanka but Kohli denies this offer and on social media, he tells their fans that now he is not leading the team in any format of cricket.

In the captaincy of Kohli, Team India won the maximum 40 Tests.
Kohli was chosen as captain of the team after Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s take retirement from Test cricket.
He raised the team from the seventh position to number-1 in Tests.
Virat Kohli had taken the decision to leave captaincy of Test cricket even before the South Africa series.
In the team’s dressing room he informed coach Rahul Dravid and fellow players immediately after the defeat in the Cape Town Test.
After this, he told BCCI officers like President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah that he is going to leave the Test captaincy.
