Baseball Technical Commissioner’s Licensing Programme Is Open. Host Israel will meet Canada and the United States in a U-18 baseball game. It will be the initial international game at the new Raanana field. The venue was recently announced and is in the North of Tel Aviv. It is even dedicated to the lasting memory of Ezra Schwartz. All three teams will participate in the U-18 basketball game at 21ST Maccabiah Games.
The teams will meet in a double round with each one in the four games. The top finisher will be heading to the final. Other than that, second and third place will be decided with a single-game playoff.
The tournament is all set to begin on 14th July (Thursday). Post that, the final game will be scheduled for 22nd July (Friday). Raanana is the recently inaugurated field to host the baseball competition games.
The field is the inspiration of the high-school student Ezra Schwartz, from Boston, USA. Schwartz died in a terrorist attack on West Bank, in 2015. Coming from the Yeshiva school, Schwartz had a bit of Jewish educational institution touch.
Schwartz comes with the family who helped Jewish National Foundation (JNF) Project Baseball. The money was invested in the construction and complementation of the Raanana field. The Maccabiah games were held in 1932, and later the multi-sport comes from a four-cycle in Israel. The 2017 edition features 85 participating nations to compete for 45 nations.
The 21st Maccabiah Games are scheduled to play through 26 July. The ceremony is going to occur at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem. Ian Kinsler is going to be a torch bearer at the games while he has been the representative at Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
