Mikel Arteta should recruit Barcelona player Frenkie de Jong to the Emirates, according to journalist Simon Collings. Concerns over Thomas Partey’s fitness have led to links between the Gunners and several central midfield players, notably Douglas Luiz and Joao Palhinha. Barcelona is reportedly eyeing a 25-year-old striker who could fetch over €25 million.
Despite these reservations, Collings thinks Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice would be ideal teammates in the center of the park with the Dutch midfielder.
Given that discussions are still underway to prolong de Jong’s stay at Barcelona, a transfer for the midfield player seems improbable. In 197 games with La Blaugrana in all competitions, he has 16 goals and 21 assists.

According to reports, Barcelona is keeping an eye on the development of AZ Alkmaar forward Vangelis Pavlidis. He is considering adding more strikers.
With eighteen goals in 16 Eredivisie games this season, the Greece international is on fire. In the summer of 2021, he allegedly signed on with his present employers for as little as €25 million.
Currently leading the Catalan team’s line, Robert Lewandowski has a 2026 contract with the team. But at 35 years old, he has drawn criticism for his lackluster efforts this year.
Despite scoring ten goals in all competitions this season, the Polish attacker is said to be leaving for Saudi Arabia in the summer. Given these conditions, the €25 million-rated Pavlidis has been linked to a transfer by La Liga heavyweights, according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo.
The striker’s transfer will not be simple, though, as Chelsea, Fulham, and AC Milan are all interested in signing him. It’s reported that Barcelona and the previously listed teams are getting ready to make summer bids to the 25-year-old.
Players like Ferran Torres and Joao Felix, an Atletico Madrid loanee who might earn a permanent contract at Camp Nou in the summer, will be tough competition for Pavlidis.
