This was the the12th ODI match between the two teams in South Africa. Bangladesh has won only two matches and South Africa has won 10 matches. Bangladesh has won both these matches in this series.
Exceptional Bowling Performance By Taskin Ahmed
In the third ODI played at Centurion, South Africa finished with only 154 runs while batting first. Taskin Ahmed’s exceptional bowling performance stopped the Africans in low total. He took 5 wickets for 35 runs in 9 overs for Bangladesh. No batsman could play a big inning for South Africa. The top scorer for Africa was Yeneman Malan. Malan scored 39 runs in 56 balls. Keshav Maharaj played an innings of 28 runs.
Bangla Tigers easily chased the target
Chasing the target of 155 runs, opener Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das gave a solid start to Bangladesh and put on a partnership of 127 runs, in which 48 runs came off Liton’s bat. Shakib supported Tamim after Liton was dismissed and Bangladesh got the win in just 26.3 overs. Tamim scored 87 runs in 82 balls, captaincy innings. In Centurion itself, on March 18, Bangladesh made a great start to the ODI series by defeating South Africa by 38 runs.
