India will start their first ODI series against Bangladesh on Sunday (December 06) in Dhaka following their tour of New Zealand. With the return of regular captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli, India were expected to defeat the Bangla Tigers, who were playing without regular commander Tamim Iqbal.
After being given the opportunity to bat first, Rohit-led India were 49 for 3 and bowled out for a pitiful 186 in 41.2 overs, with only Rahul scoring 73 runs off just 70 balls. Shakib Al Hasan surprised the Indian batting order upon his comeback with a 5-for-36. Before being reduced to 136 for 9, the Bangla Tigers were 95 for 3 at one stage and 128 for 4 at another.
