Mashrafe Mortaza led the Sylhet Strikers, who started the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2023 with a win. At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, the Strikers defeated the Chattogram Challengers by eight wickets in Match No. 1.
With a net run rate of +2.750, strikers are currently at the top of the points table. They have two points. The Challengers, on the other hand, failed to capitalize on the competition’s opening match and finished last with a net run rate of -2.750.

Bangladesh Premier League 2023 Strikers race to victory in the BPL :
The Challengers were assigned to bat first, but they were unable to gain any momentum during their innings. On a pitch that was difficult to bat on, they were limited to 89 for nine in 20 overs. The other batters simply were unable to step on the gas after Zakir Hasan struck out Mehedi Maruf, who appeared to be dangerous after hitting one six.
Maruf, Al Amin Jr., and Afif Hossain Dhrubo all reached double figures, but they were unsuccessful in making their starts count. Before Mohammad Amir took his wicket, Afif scored a 25-ball total with three fours.
With figures of 4-0-14-0, Rejaur Rahman Raja emerged as the Strikers’ preferred bowler. Mashrafe Mortaza was also exceptional because he only gave up 18 runs and took Mrittunjoy Chowdhury out.
Mrittunjoy Chowdhury took the crucial wicket of Colin Ackermann to give the Strikers a poor start. After that, Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto put their team in control with a 63-run stand for the second wicket.
