March 2023 has been set aside for the first bilateral trip of Bangladesh by England in six years. Over the course of two weeks, the two teams will play three ODIs and three T20Is at Chattogram and Dhaka, respectively. The Super League, a competition to determine which countries receive direct entrance for the 2023 World Cup, includes the three-match ODI series.
Bangladesh and England have already attained qualification. The first two games took place in Dhaka on March 1 and 3, followed by the third game on March 6 in Chattogram. The following will see the debut of a bilateral T20I series between Bangladesh and England. The first match will take place on March 9 in Chattogram, while the following two will follow on March 12 and 14 in Dhaka.
Although it came close in 2016, England has triumphed in all four bilateral ODI series between the two teams. Following those games, Bangladesh drew the Test series after coming back from a 1-0 deficit with one of their greatest performances. Clare Connor, the chief executive of the ECB, expressed her delight at the two teams’ long-awaited reunion to face each other in a bilateral series.
The England men’s white-ball team’s first trip back to Bangladesh since 2016 is exhilarating, she added. “There will be a tremendous mood created in Dhaka and Chattogram for this much anticipated tour. Bangladesh has a strong enthusiasm for cricket, so we anticipate a challenging matchup against a team with a strong home record.”
The Bangladesh Cricket Board may not want to welcome England’s powerful batting lineup in Chattogram, according to certain rumours. especially considering that India scored more than 400 points there only a few days before. The expected arrival date for England in Bangladesh is February 20. Before the ODI series starts, they have two practise matches scheduled.
