Bangladesh is all set to take on India in the two-match Test series after a rare ODI series victory. From 9:30 a.m. onward, the first Test will be played at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium between December 14 and 18. The visitors are eager to maintain their Test unbeaten streak against Bangladesh.
The visitors have yet to lose a Test match against Bangladesh after 11 matches in the longest format. Against Bangladesh, the visitors have won nine Tests and drawn two. After a gap of three years, both teams will play the longest format against one another. In 2019, both teams last played a day and night Test at Eden Gardens.
By 46 runs and an innings, India won the Test. Ishant Sharma’s five-for reduced Bangladesh to 106 after they batted first. India declared the innings on 347 for the loss of nine wickets thanks to Virat Kohli’s 136 runs. India easily won the second innings thanks to Umesh Yadav’s five wickets.
With 6 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws, India is currently fourth in the ICC Test Championship points table. To be eligible for the Final, they must win five of their last six Tests. Bangladesh, on the other hand, is last in the standings, having won just one Test this cycle out of ten. The hosts have drawn one and lost four of their last five Test matches.
