The World Runners Club The World Runners Club was officially started on December 1, 2013. The first two people to join were the first two people to run around the world and have proof of it. Jesper Kenn Olsen, from Denmark, and Tom Denniss, from Australia, are two of the group’s founding members. From 2004 to 2005, Jesper ran 26,232 km around the world. With the help of the ISU Junior Skater Scholarship Program, many talented young skaters have been able to pursue their dreams of further education. Petra Jászapáti, a Hungarian student, received a scholarship in 2016. An excellent concept for skaters of all ages, she remarked, because it gives you a boost of motivation. It used to be that inline skating was distinct from ice skating; now the two sports are interwoven in a way that was previously unimaginable. To help athletes transition from the tarmac to ice, the ISU Development provides a well-received Transition Program. A second international pair skating seminar will be held this summer at the Oberstdorf ISU Center of Excellence. The seminar will be led by Olympic Champion Bruno Massot (GER), five-time World Champion Robin Szolkowy (GER), European Champion Vanessa James (CAN), and European Bronze Medalist Ondrej Hotarek (ITA).
