Australian Skipper Aaron Finch announces retirement from ODI : Australian Skipper Aaron Finch announces his retirement from One day international. His game against New Zealand on Sunday is going to be his last in an ODI. Aaron Finch represented Australia in 145 ODI matches. His form in this format has been amazing, but the last few innings were awful. He scored 26 runs in his last five innings in the format.
Cricket Australia released a press release for Aaron Finch. In a press release, Aaron Finch says ” “It has been a great ride with some incredible memories in the format.”

With this, it is clear Aaron Finch will not be part of the World Cup in 2024. Australia Cricket will announce a new ODI captain. However, Aaron Finch will continue to be part of T20. He is going to lead the Australian side in the T20 World Cup in October.
Aaron Finch is retiring with an impressive ODI record throughout his career. He has 5400 runs including 17 centuries under his belt. Moreover, Aaron Smashed a century against Scotland on his debut at Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2013. Finch scored his maiden century with 148 runs on debut in ODI.
After the ball-tampering scandal, he became full-time captain of Australia in 2018.
