In India, street cricket is very popular, and this is where many kids learn to love the game. The fact that street cricket is so easy to play is probably the biggest reason for this. A bat, a ball, and some space in the neighborhood are all that are required. When a temporary wicket appears, the game is ready to begin.
People of all ages, genders, and skill levels are welcome to join the band and begin playing in this extremely inclusive game. Socializing is just as important as playing the game itself. As a result, when international players travel to India, they enjoy playing with Indians on the street. Three Australian players who have enjoyed playing street cricket are examined:
Brett Lee
Brian Lara and Brett Lee, two great cricketers, have always had wonderful relationships with India and Indian cricket. Both of these players have been a part of the IPL panel in the past, and in 2019, they played street cricket against one another in Mumbai with local fans.
The video with the captain was posted by Lee:
“An unplanned Gully Cricket match in Mumbai with my good friend @bcl375400. 2 over match between Lee and Lara. had to bowl the two deliveries I liked best. Bouncer to Lara, then Yorker to a poor member of the opposing team. An excellent crowd to support the great West Indian! # Brian Lara hehasstillgotit”.
Another video of the fast bowler hitting an inch-perfect yorker that hit the stumps was posted online.
Steve Waugh
Back in 1994, Australia visited Pakistan for an undeniable visit when the times were ordinary. The bowlers put in a lot of effort and scored a lot of runs, as is typical in Pakistan.
The first Test was drawn on October 15, 1994, in Karachi, which marked the beginning of the Test series. Australia won the second Test, which was held in Faisalabad from October 28 to November 1, by an innings and 54 runs. Pakistan prevailed by 74 runs in the third and final Test, which was held in Rawalpindi from November 5 to November 9.
Australian cricketers Steve Waugh, Damien Fleming, and Shane Warne sneaked out of the action to play street cricket with kids in Lahore.
David Warner
In Mumbai, the Australian opening batter David Warner, who is in town for the first ODI match between India and Australia, played street cricket with his fans. After missing the first two Tests because of an injury, the left-hander has returned for the ODI series.
While in Mumbai, Warner, who is extremely well-liked in India, played street cricket. He joined the street children and uploaded the video with the following caption to his Instagram account:
