Aurélien Tchouaméni Biography: Aurélien Djani Tchouaméni is a French professional football player who was born on January 27, 2000. He plays as a defensive midfielder for Real Madrid in La Liga and for the France national team. Tchouaméni’s family is from Cameroon.
Initial Years
Tchouaméni was born in Rouen, in the Seine-Maritime region, but grew up in Bordeaux, in the Gironde region.
Club career
Bordeaux
Tchouaméni’s first game with the first team was a 1–0 win away to FK Ventspils of Latvia in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League on July 26, 2018. He played for 89 minutes in the game that day. Then, on August 9, he scored his first goal for a professional club. It was the last goal in Bordeaux’s 3–1 Europa League win away against Mariupol.
Monaco
On January 29, 2020, Tchouaméni signed a contract with Monaco for the next four and a half years. After playing for his club team for about a year, he finally scored his first league goal for the team on January 23, 2021. He scored the second goal in a 3–1 win against Marseille. Then, on May 14, 2022, he helped his captain, Wissam Ben Yedder, score a goal. This was the 9th straight win for his team.
Real Madrid
On June 11, 2022, the two teams announced that Tchouaméni will move to Real Madrid on July 1, 2022, and sign a six-year contract. The transfer fee was said to be €80 million, but extra fees could bring it up to €100 million.
As an international player
On August 26, 2021, he was called up to the France senior squad for the first time. On September 1, he played his first game for his country against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying game. He replaced Thomas Lemar in the 46th minute. Then, in a friendly match against Ivory Coast on March 25, 2022, Tchouaméni scored his first goal for the national team.
