David Warner just shed his baggy green before his farewell Test for Australia. On Tuesday, January 2, the veteran pitcher moved to social media to make a plea for the backpack to be returned.
It happened after the cap went missing on the way from Melbourne to Sydney for the third and final Test against Pakistan, which is set to begin on Wednesday, January 3.
In exchange for his Test cap, the 37-year-old pledged to give away his Australian kit bag
“Hello everyone, this is my last resort,” he posted on Instagram, along with a video.
“My rucksack, which contained my Baggy Green, was, however, stolen from my luggage, which had been carried to Melbourne airport and flown to Sydney on @qantas a few days ago.”
@qantas has stated that they have reviewed their cameras and have not seen someone enter our luggage and remove the rucksack, but they do have blind areas.
If you were either working for the firm driving it to and from the airport or working for @qantas and just wanted the rucksack, I have one for you.
I would appreciate it if this could be returned as soon as possible.
Please contact Cricket Australia or me via social media, and I’d be pleased to offer you this in exchange for returning my baggy greens.

Fans on X (Twitter) had conflicting feelings over David Warner’s loss of his Test cap before of his retiring game. One user commented:
Here are some more responses:
Pat Cummins wants the finest hitter to replace David Warner, not Uzzy (Usman Khawaja)
Australia captain Pat Cummins stated that once David Warner retires, he wants the finest batsman to replace him in Tests and ODIs.
The 30-year-old pointed out that the replacement does not have to be a specialist opener, using Usman Khawaja as an example. PerthNow quotes him as saying:
“Uzzy wasn’t a specialized opener until it was practically the last open slot on the squad and he forced his way in.”
“You should ideally have someone with opening experience, but I don’t think this is a hard and fast rule.”
Andrew McDonald, Australia’s coach, has left the door open for Cameron Green to fill Warner’s vacuum. Marcus Harris and Matt Renshaw are potentially viable possibilities for the vacant position.
