On Tuesday, December 6, Greek side Atromitos and Nottingham Forest will meet in a friendly match.
Since their respective leagues are currently off due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the two teams will make use of the game to continue their preparations for their return to competitive play. Atromitos is coming off a 1-1 draw against Asteras Tripolis on Saturday in another friendly. Jeronimo Barrales scored an injury-time equalizer for Tripolis after Vidar Kjartansson had given Atromitos the lead. Both goals came in the second half.
In contrast, Nottingham lost a friendly match against Stoke City by a score of 2-1. They took the lead in the 42nd minute with a goal from Morgan Gibbs-White, but Steve Cook scored an own goal in the 64th minute to make it 2-2 before Tyrese Campbell scored the winning goal 16 minutes later.
Before returning to competitive play in the EFL Cup, the Premier League team has scheduled friendlies against Olympiacos and Valencia.
Prediction
Ten of Nottingham’s players carried their national flags in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, giving the club a significant presence there. As a result, Steve Cooper’s squad players may benefit from opportunities presented by the game. In the meantime, Atromitos will be eager to win this one before competing against Olympiacos in the Greek Cup again. Albeit either group could scratch a success, the riches could be partaken in a low-scoring draw.
